Staatsburg, N.Y. (3/13/25) — Staatsburgh State Historic Site, is offering three, instructor-led, interactive programs during local schools’ upcoming spring break that explore the Gilded Age mansion through the lens of art and mythology, architecture, and the lifestyles of the rich and those in service to them. These programs are designed for children ages 8 to 12, when accompanied by an adult.

Olana - Spring SnowHudson, NY - The Olana Partnership will hold its monthly FREE Third Thursdays on February 20 from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM at Olana State Historic Site. Olana Third Thursdays are free monthly community days of tours and programs for all ages. Visitors can start the day looking mindfully at works of art in the Sharp Family Gallery in the Historic House. Morning Mindfulness in the Gallery held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, will be led by local art therapists who will include mindfulness practices to deepen your experience of the two artworks on view.

Hudson River MuseumYonkers, NY, March 3, 2025—Celebrate Women’s History Month at the Hudson River Museum this month with a variety of exciting programs and events! 

Join us at Free First Fridays: Immersive Ballet by MorDance on Friday, March 7, 5–8pm, with MorDance’s Echoes of Silence, an immersive ballet honoring the artistry of influential female singer-songwriters from the 60s and 70s that will be performed in the galleries. On Saturday, March 15, 1:30–3:30pm, Ebony Bolt will give an Artist Tour and Workshop on her piece Botanical Dreams in the Concrete Jungle, currently on view in Collection Spotlight: Cityscapes.

Perhaps you align yourself with the likes of the Dowager Countess from Downton Abbey or Bertha Russel from HBO’s The Gilded Age. Or you identify more with the working-class servants downstairs in the grand Gilded Age mansions. Staatsburgh’s popular “The REAL Gilded Age: America’s Elite in the Downton Abbey Era” and “A Life in Service” theme tours, offered this March, will explore two separate topics of Gilded Age history.
